What people are saying about us:

"BRAKE SAFE takes the guesswork out of brake adjustment...because the three indicator pins are brightly coloured, they are easily visible just by looking underneath the power unit or trailer...the whole process takes just a few minutes, meaning substantial cost saving in both time and money, especially with heavy fines for out-of-adjustment brakes."

President of Truck Watch Service Inc.

A leading truck inspection services company.

"BRAKE SAFE'S stroke indicators are the only way to go for guaranteed, accurate brake adjustments.  The devices are inexpensive and easy to install.  The actually make daily inspections practical.  With the increasing concern and publicity around truck safety, Brake Safe is insurance against safety incidents, road side detentions and bad publicity.  I recommend Brake Safe's system for any fleet, large or small."

  • Spectra Concludes Successful Tradeshow

For Immediate Release – October 21, 2002

Toronto, Ontario - Spectra Inc. (SSA:TSX Venture) reports the company achieved a number of milestones relating to its participation at the recent Truck World 2002 Tradeshow in Toronto. Truck World 2002 is Canada’s largest showcase of the latest in trucking products and services. During the Tradeshow, Spectra participated in the inaugural Ontario Trucking Association Maintenance and Technology Conference showcasing the latest technological developments for the trucking industry. Spectra was chosen to demonstrate its unique, innovative, electronic air brake diagnostic system, Brake Inspector TM, designed to reduce maintenance costs and improve fleet safety.

Spectra presented and demonstrated Brake Inspector TM at specified times daily during the Conference. Using a Freightliner truck, Spectra personnel demonstrated hands on the product’s impressive diagnostic features and capabilities, including identifying faulty brake adjustment.

In addition to Brake InspectorTM, Spectra featured its new air brake lock down device designed to immobilize vehicles equipped with air brakes, including trucks, trailers and buses, and conventional, automotive hydraulic brake systems. According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation the combined value of truck, trailer and cargo theft exceeds 12 billion dollars a year in the United States and in Canada that number is approximately 1 billion dollars a year. With the growing number of stolen cargo, vehicles and equipment, Spectra’s anti-theft brake locking system is an inexpensive and viable solution to a serious, industry-wide problem.

“Spectra’s focus at this show was to showcase our Brake Inspector TM electronic, air brake diagnostic system to fleet owners, safety managers and maintenance managers. Industry response was very enthusiastic, including positive feedback from professionals involved in safety, maintenance, driver training, roadside enforcement as well as fleet owners,” stated Andrew Malion, Chairman of Spectra. “With the number of serious inquiries regarding both fleet purchases and distribution opportunities for our Brake Inspector TM and Brake Lock products, it’s safe to say the Truck World 2002 Tradeshow has been the best show for Spectra this year”.

Spectra Inc. is a vertically integrated supplier of innovative products and services to the Commercial Transportation Industry and the Professional Trucker. Spectra’s product line increases productivity, reduces maintenance costs and improves fleet safety and includes Brake SafeTM and SureStroke TM, visual brake stroke indicators, Brake InspectorTM, a new, advanced electronic air brake diagnostic system and the Termin-8R® line of anti-corrosion and extreme pressure lubricants.
