Toronto, Ontario – Spectra Inc. (SSA: CDNX) announces that it is seeking to implement ISO9001/QS9000 Quality Management Systems with its wholly-owned subsidiary, Spectra Products Inc.
The ISO9001/QS9000 certification program ensures consistent quality control standards are followed in the design, manufacture, assembly and packaging of Spectra’s products. These standards are designed to meet the needs of industry and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to ensure consistent product quality with zero defects.
Spectra Inc. has signed an agreement with the Business Development Bank of Canada’s Consulting Group to implement the ISO9001/QS9000 program for certification of Spectra Products Inc. The process is expected to take six months, with a completion date in early 2002.
“By proceeding at this time with the certification program, Spectra Products will be qualified to supply its current and future products to the transportation industry at the OEM level,” stated Terry Faye, Spectra’s Director of Sales and Technical Support. “This can translate into increased sales and profit opportunities since the OEM market produces over 300,000 new trucks and 265,000 new trailers annually.
