Toronto, Ontario – Spectra Inc. (SSA: CDNX) and Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems showcased the new SureStroke TM air brake diagnostic aid and visual brake stroke indicator system in March at The Maintenance Council (TMC) show in Nashville, TN. SureStroke TM is the Bendix private label version of Spectra’s Brake Safe TM product line. The introduction of SureStroke TM at the TMC gathering was the first stage of a full product launch in North America by Bendix and provided strategic positioning of the Bendix branded product.
The Maintenance Council is a leading transportation industry association with a mandate to focus on maintenance, legislative and new product trends and issues in the heavy-duty truck, trailer and bus industries. Attendees to the weekly conference included representatives from OEM manufacturers, regulatory agencies, product manufacturers and senior maintenance directors from Fortune 500 fleets throughout North America.
Andrew Malion, Chairman of Spectra commented, “This high powered, high profile gathering provided Bendix with the prominent exposure needed in introducing this key safety and maintenance diagnostic aid.”
SureStroke TM entered the second stage of product launch at the Mid-America Truck Show in Louisville, KY. During this three day trucking exposition, the largest of its kind in North America, Bendix introduced the SureStroke TM product to owner operators, fleet maintenance personnel, fleet owners and aftermarket dealers through product demonstrations of SureStroke TM highlighting safety, maintenance benefits and cost savings.
“The TMC and Mid-America product introduction was enthusiastically received” commented Terry Faye, Spectra’s Director of Sales and Technical Support. “Considerable interest in SureStroke TM was shown by senior maintenance managers attending the TMC and at the Mid-America Truck Show. Bendix and Spectra personnel fielded a barrage of inquires from fleet personnel including drivers, mechanics, fleet owners and industry dealers.”
The final stage of the SureStroke TM launch occurs in early May when Bendix’s 35 field sales representatives will receive in-depth training concerning SureStroke’s TM benefits, diagnostic capabilities, competitive advantages and fleet return on investment. Bendix sales representatives will in turn commence training the 3000 plus independent dealers sales and parts counter staff to promote the SureStroke TM product to their fleet customers. Within the next few months the number of sales people promoting SureStroke TM will number in the several hundreds.
Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems have expressed interest in expanding distribution of SureStroke TM outside of North America and have commenced discussions with Spectra for the opportunity to distribute and market additional products Spectra has under development.
